Chapter 2 page 367 - TR 130 6 miles in h@%!

Today was hotter than H#@$%!!!!!!!!
Just a quickie post to document the crap-fest of a 6.44 mile training session that "C" and I did this afternoon when it was over 90 degrees.  It failed mostly because it was sooooo hot.  It failed because I just can't push myself when it gets hard.  It failed because I threw up in my mouth and it went out my nose - BURNS in case you wondered!.  It failed because our route was entirely too much in the sun (shade was tolerable, but there wasn't nearly enough of that -boo!).  We walked a total of 3 out of the 6 miles because I couldn't push through yet again - seriously, this is getting old.  2 of the 3 miles we did an interval of 3:20 run & 1:40 walk.  We changed to a 2 minute run & 1:30 walk interval for a mile.  I screwed up my watch so I really don't know what our final time was (probably for the best), but it was completely unimpressive!!!

After our 6.44 miles we headed to McDonalds to refresh with a potty break and a McDiet and headed to the final Knight Runs race (it's been a 3 part race series with a 3K, 4K, and 5K).  Later this week I'll have more details and photos of that!

  1. You survived that nasty hot run! Way to go! I don't like running in hot weather either, but it's unfortunately a necessary part of running in MN in the summer.

  3. I am amazed that you got out there and ran at all in that weather, it was SO miserable. Don't beat yourself up over it! See you tonight!

  4. Yikes! Sounds like you gotta bite the bullet and start some morning running, or else don't run until after at least 8 p.m. at night.
