Chapter 2 page 316 - quick question

So, here is the good news - I finished, under my own power, within the allotted time (even SLIGHTLY ahead of goal time).  But . . . I have a quick, but important question to ask you all for now (recap to come after I have showered, napped, and partied with my rehab "L" friend who is ushering in her 50th birthday tonight with drinking and clubbing). 

quick question - 
WHY(on earth) DO YOU DO HALF MARATHONS?

    I want to go to the club?! Dang! Are there even clubs in B-Town? Or are you coming up to the big city to go to Piere's? :)

    Why do I do halfs? Well, I haven't done one yet, but I want to know that I CAN do one (plus I'm doing it for my mom because she can't do one).

    You have to do half marathons to keep challenging yourself, there is no end in sight.

  4. I did it because you did it! The reason we do these things is to accomplish our goals! As painful as they are....it feels best when you are done! Celebrate and be proud of your accomplishments.....Stay on track so we can run Ft. Wayne together!   5. Congrats! I can't wait to read the full race recap! Party hard, but not TOO hard. ;-)

    I have traveled a significant distance to run three of the five half-marathons I've completed (Omaha, San Francisco, Portland). I love traveling, so doing a running event in another part of the country gives me that opportunity to visit a place I've never gone to before and create unique memories there. Plus, running in a new city gives you a different perspective of it that you wouldn't have if you were *just* sightseeing.

    Having a half-marathon on my calendar also gives me a goal race to train for. Plus, I like finisher medals (although I'm not a fan of medals for 10K distances or less). :)
